Extremely relevant there is a finding out of the little-known facts of the biography, public and scientific activity of the first President of the Ukrainian Academy of sciences V.I. Vernadsky, bound with his stay in Ukraine. The existence of Commission is understanding of necessity of comprehensive analysis of scientific activities of V.I. Vernadsky from the point of view on issues of our time, tendency to acquaint with scientific creativity of the scientist not only specialists, and the public. For this purpose under the initiative of Commission the conferences and seminars are conducted, the exhibitions are organized, the publications in mass media make dispositions. Conventional, since 1991, steel public academic Readings of academician Vernadsky, which one are carried out by Commission annually on March 12 in Birthday of the famous scientist.

Commission of a National Academy of sciences of Ukraine for labotrate of sciences heritage of academician V.I. Vernadsky is created in 1987 with the purpose of scientific organization and coordination of all activities, bound with the creative heritage of V.I. Vernadsky, with development and popularization of ideas of the ingenious scientific thinker, collecting, preservation and publication of his scientific works and documentary heritage.
